IS A POWER COMPANY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CALIFORNIA FIRES

The cause of the wildfires in California that have decimated crops in Sonoma County is still under investigation, but Pacific Gas & Electric is being looked at as a possible culprit. There are reports that local fire crews were called to at least 10 different locations along PG&E’s power lines after 911 calls reported sparking wires and other issues in an area that was filled with heavy winds. A PG&E spokesperson told the East Bay Times that any questions about maintenance of power lines were “highly speculative” but acknowledged that equipment had malfunctioned.
